Kori and Joey’s first dance at their Calimigos Ranch Wedding.

Calimigos Ranch was the location for Kori and Joey’s summer wedding. Nestled in Malibu, it was the first time I traveled to this incredible venue. It was an amazing dance party, topped off with a special rendition of “Jump Around” for all of the fans of the Wisconsin Badgers.

Makenna and Daniel’s first dance in the Crown Room at the Hotel Del Coronado.

I’ve DJ’d/MC’d many weddings at the Hotel Del Coronado during the past 15-plus years, but this one might have been the most beautiful. From the ceremony all the way through the reception, it was beautifully designed fairy tale showcasing the love of Makenna and Daniel for their June 16, 2018 wedding.

For their first dance, they chose the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s duet, “The Rest of Our Life.” A sweet song, with the perfect lyrics for a young couple starting their journey in life.

“Even if time takes its toll, we'll stay young for the rest of our lives”

To get the dance floor started, Makenna had a great idea to play a song for her mom, as we transitioned out of the Father/Daughter dance. This was a great idea, as she noted that the mother of the bride usually doesn’t have a designated dance for her.

So we played, naturally, “Mom,” by Meghan Trainor. This was a fun way to kick off the night.

Fitbit Local San Diego June 2018 Workout - Alexan

For the June 2018 installment of Fitbit Local San Diego, ambassadors Mike Sherbakov and Sheri Matthews Kimmel brought the crew to downtown San Diego and the swanky Alexan residential complex. As an added bonus, this event took place on a Tuesday, so there was tacos after the workout and dance party.

Sarah and Alex had the perfect soundtrack to their wedding, which took place on June 9, 2018 at Tower 23. Their first dance was Mumford & Sons’, Reminder and for the first time in a handful of “Sarah” brides, I finally had one dance to “Sara Smile” for her first dance.

Michelle and Cameron’s Destination Wedding at the San Diego Botanic Garden

Michelle and Cameron pose by a fountain after their wedding ceremony at the San Diego Botanic Garden.

Michelle and Cameron made their special day a destination wedding for them and many of their guests. And there’s not much of a better place in North County San Diego than the San Diego Botanic Garden.

There were some great musical highlights as well, which included a Polynesian dance (led by Michelle) and some interesting covers for their first dance and the father/daughter dance.

Michelle’s musician dad, and a total rocker, chose to dance with his daughter to Sweet Child ‘O Mine. This would have been epic with Gun ‘n’ Roses, but he found a sweet, acoustic, mellow version. A version I had never heard before.

And for their first dance, Michelle and Cameron chose the classic Elvis Presley tune, Can’t Help Falling In Love. However, it was a version performed by 21 Pilots.
