My experience in the Windsor Cottage
When your wedding calls for an intimate affair the Windsor Cottage at the Hotel Del Coronado is the perfect choice. The Del describes it as a “stunning chandelier-lit room with stunning ocean views,” and in my opinion it has an even better ocean view than the Del’s famous ballroom. Perched high in the hotel, a balcony overlooks the lush green Windsor Lawn that precedes an unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean.
The hotel notes it can accommodate up to 70 guests, but generally the guest count for weddings I have hosted in this room has averaged around 50 guests. This is enough room for table seating a small dance floor and a lot of fun.
If you are thinking of something even smaller and more low key, I have hosted a wedding in the past without a dance floor in this room. At this celebration I provided master of ceremonies and background music service. It was a wedding dinner for 30 guests seated at a table that was about the length of the room. It worked wonderfully.
