This latest round of Yoga Sculpt with Katie B at Corepower Yoga was a nod to Kaboo, the multi-day music festival that rolled through San Diego the same week as this class

DJ Kanoya Restorative Yoga Flow - Live Yoga Music Mix

This is a continuous 60+ minute restorative yoga setlist, originally programmed for the August 22, 2017 Savasana at Sunset taught by Sara Shermis. The first 10 minutes are ambient, useful for a warm-up flow and/or meditation. The pace picks up slightly, with vocal tracks sprinkled in throughout. But the pace is mostly slow, specifically for the restorative nature of the class it was created for.

At 55:27, the music is all ambient for approximately 20 minutes. This gives you a window for both a cool down and savasana.

Tuesday Night Savasana at Sunset with Sara Shermis

Sara Shermis leads a yoga class at La Valencia hotel in La Jolla, Calif. 

Lululemon La Jolla’s Tuesday night yoga sessions continued throughout the summer, and I had a chance to squeeze in another DJ session. The event, Savasana at Sunset, is a benefit to OG Yoga, an organization that brings the practice of yoga to those that may not otherwise be exposed to it, including underprivileged youth, battered women and even prison inmates.

For the August 22 session, I was introduced to San Diego yoga instructor, Sara Shermis, who I had the pleasure of DJing alongside for the first time.

Sunset Yoga Flow with Lululemon and La Valencia

This summer, Lululemon La Jolla has teamed up with OG Yoga for a Savasana at Sunset, a Tuesday night series of yoga events at La Valencia hotel.

OG Yoga is an organization that brings the practice of yoga to those that may not otherwise be exposed to it, including underprivileged youth, battered women and even prison inmates. It’s mission is “to deliver trauma informed mindfulness based yoga through partnerships with non-profit organizations serving marginalized individuals to support healing, resilience, self-development and positive social change.”  

My dear friend Brett Timmons was leading the class on August 1. It would be the biggest class she had ever taught and I knew I wanted to be a part of it and help out with the music for the night. Since it was primariy a restorative style of yoga, the beats were super mellow throughout.
