The 2016 San Diego Asian Film Festival has come to a close and I was once again happy to be a part of the closing night festivities. The closing night film was Mifune: The Last Samurai and was shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla.

After the film, attendees were invited into the museum lobby for a post-film party. I provided music while everyone mingled and enjoyed food and drink.

The 17th San Diego Asian Film Festival takes place November 3-12, 2016.

The Pacific Arts Movement’s Chew The Scene Event is a sign of two things … good food and the annual San Diego Asian Film Festival is just around the corner. ‘Chew,’ which took place on October 11 at Brick Event Center, serves as the official kick off event to the festival, now in its 17th year.

The event combines food and drink tastings while giving attendees first opportunity in San Diego to preview the film festival’s lineup of films and programs. I was there to set the tone with music and lighting, in cooperation with San Diego Event Pros.

Torrey Pines Periodontal & Implant Center put together a “backyard BBQ” style celebration at its office on September 8, 2016. It was a celebration and appreciation of the second anniversary of taking up residency at their University City area office building.

San Diego Comic Con 2016 once again rolled through the streets of San Diego. With it were caped crusaders, zombies and other indescribable costumes. While much of the party is inside the San Diego Convention Center, there's probably just as much happening outside.

I had the opportunity to DJ an event for Hitfix, and entertainment website. They hosted the party on the pool deck of the Hotel Solamar. It was a perfect evening with San Diego as a perfect backdrop, including Petco Park.

“I don’t know what to do for dinner,” is one phrase that does not need to be said this summer. That’s because, every Friday through September 2, Balboa Park is hosting Food Truck Friday. This is a gathering of several food trucks that offer various cuisines.

Truck are lined up all along the Prado walkway, as well as the main plaza within the heart of Balboa Park. I supplied music within the plaza for the July 1, 2016 event for a few thousand al fresco diners. The highlight of the evening was mixing “Summertime” (in the summer), with On a Sunday Afternoon (in Balboa Park).
